picture overload

I have been meaning to put these up for quite awhile now... most of them are from a couple of weeks ago.  Jakers being in the hospital last weekend kind of threw things off a little and now we are trying to play catch-up with work and everything else in between!!

Jake and Cole have been taking swim lessons from Becky Thomas for the last few weeks... she is the BEST!  I don't think you could find a better teacher anywhere and all the kids just adore her.  They got their CHAMPION gold medals and blue ribbon--Jake started shouting once he was done, "I'm on the swim team HOORAY!  I'm on the swim team!" and of course, the medal and ribbon ended up in Cole's bucket of treats which goes everywhere with him.

Jake was able to go to school for three whole days before he got too sick.  He loved it and was so excited.  It helped to break the day up for him so he was not so bored.  We have been struggling with that the last little while--you can only read so many books and do homework and play video games for so long.  It will be nice once he can really go back to school.

My FIRST day of school!!!
And then comes the hospital stay.  Nothing new to say about that...
Jake is still on IV antibiotics.  We just give them to him at home.  He loves to help push the meds thru his IV.  Cole has gotten into helping quite a bit too...

And then there is Crew.  7 months old.  And this is what we find one morning last week when we got him out of his crib.  Yes, he is pulling himself up already.  He is a busy, busy boy...Trouble!

Here is our super-hero underwear man (This is what Cole has dubbed himself as)

Our three yummy boys enjoying the nice weather...

Mouth Sores and Fevers

Maybe this will be our final hospital stay... you know the one that comes along with the delayed intensification phase. You never know. (I know--dream on!) Things were going too well for it to last.
We called the on-call doctor last night as Jakers had a fever of 101. It can be very dangerous for his temp to spike up. Jeff took him to the ER at about 9:00 and he was admitted because of his fever and low blood counts. His ANC was at 100 and his platelets were scary low at 8 (30 is borderline low). He got platelets and a good ole' dose of morphine last night because of how much pain he was in. They started him on antibiotics and he has done great today! The only complaint he has had are those AWFUL mouth sores. We knew they would be bad... but the poor kid. It has been horrible for him. We have 'magic mouth wash' that he can swish with every 4 hours...he uses it probably every 30 minutes. He cannot talk or eat because it is so painful. I looked in the back of his throat the other day and saw one sore the size of a large pencil eraser on the back of his throat. And that is not even the one he is complaining about. Despite his pain--it really has been a good day for him. He loves to stay in the 'comfy' beds and order whatever food he wants. It is like a party all day long with movies and video games and coloring. He has all the attention to himself and has figured it out pretty quickly. A little too smart for his own good!
We will hopefully be able to go home tomorrow evening. Jake will most likely have to have a blood transfusion tomorrow and he has to be fever free for at least 24 hours. He had a fever this morning, but not one since, so keep your fingers crossed!!

The BRAND new ski in action

So, since my SEXY hubby always complains that I never say how great he is, this post is dedicated to him.  You can see what a great water skiier and athlete he is just by looking at these pictures of him skiing.  One day he will be a national champion and you will all be able to say that you know him.  The glory.  The champion.  JEFFREY JAMIESON!!!

Seriously, he is an amazing husband and dad and we don't know what we would do without him around to make us laugh and keep us on our toes with all that he says and does.  There is never a dull moment when he is around as I am sure you can see from a few posts and photos that have been left by him.  We love him like crazy around here and are so glad he is a part of our lives...
Just look at those biceps.  He is one sexy boy!!
Coming around the number three buoy.  Did I mention to look at that spray?  He is amazing...

And of course a couple of the kids...
Cole loves the water as much as his dad.  He was not thrilled when Jeff took a turn skiing before he did.
Just practicing for when Dad outgrows his new ski.
This was Crew's first time on a boat... he loved it.  We of course had to take a picture by Daddy's brand new ski that makes him ski better than he EVER has in his  life.  Apparently it was worth every penny and he is awfully proud of that thing.

(If you are wondering where Jake is, he is in the car.  Mouth sores have hit with a vengeance and this was not a good day for him.  He is also on steroids and that should explain a lot.  Love this cancer thing.)

clinic

Jake is doing very well especially considering that we are well into the 4th phase of therapy.  He is on steroids again this week, and the anger management classes are well underway!  (It seems to get worse each time.)  He has gotten a few mouth sores, but nothing too extreme.  We are hoping they don't get much worse.  Clinic went well yesterday-- his platelets and blood count are low, so he had a blood transfusion.  Other than that, life is great!  It has been much better than we expected it would be... especially considering the last couple of months.  We have a physical therapist come in twice a week to work with him.  He is walking so much better and we even got the go ahead for school!  We have so much to be grateful for.  Thank you once again for all of the prayers and support that we continue to receive.  We truly believe if not for those, things would not be going as well as they are.  So thank you!!!
