To top spring break off, we decided to go camping at the lake for two nights. The days were beautiful. The nights were freezing. The first night, I slept with a little space heater named Remi on top of me, so I was okay, but everyone else froze. Remi ended up with a fever the next day due to two teeth coming in, so I took her home. Jeff was going to come home with the boys, but decided to stay because they were so excited. Crew told Jeff that it was, "the best night of my whole life!" The sore back and freezing temperatures were more than worth it.

A day in San Francisco:
*vomit in the car on the way there
*rode BART into the city for the first time
*explored the Exporatorium
*walked a mile to the beach
*played in the sand and water
*froze our tails off
*hot chocolate at Giradelli Square
*tried to find a BART closer than the two miles away
*found one on mapquest at the bottom of Lombard Street
(or so we thought)
*walked .5 miles straight up a hill to the TOP of Lombard street (pushing a stroller)
*realized it was a bus stop. Not a train.
*walked down the middle of Lombard street
*saw a guy get arrested by six cops
*finally made it to BART
*got home at about midnight
with nine kids and two moms. It was an adventure.

Today was our first lake day of the year. The water was freezing, but apparently boys feel no pain because they each skied two sets and came out of the water shaking like a leaf, but with huge grins on their faces. Remi was not too sure about the whole boat thing. We pulled up to the lake and she oohed and ahhed and giggled at the water, but the second we put her on the boat, she screamed like a little girl. Not cry screamed. Scream, screamed. She was terrified. She hung on to me or Jeff like a little monkey the whole time we were driving. By the time we left, she was a little better and had started to get used to it. Funny girl.
March 27th:
Today marks the first day of spring break. We have been counting down the days. We celebrated by going to the pool and pretending that it was summer vacation.

Crew has been obsessed with robot-building lately. Along with a paleontologist, lego maker and pianist, he wants to be a robot builder when he grows up. He spent close to two hours today building Leroy the robot today. He is so proud.
