Lake Powell

Yeah!  We are finally home from our never ending vacationing month!  The only things we really had going on this summer were bottled up in two short weeks which were so much fun but also insanely crazy!  I don't think I have sat down for 2 seconds... it is nice to be home again and have a short summer before the boys start school again--next month.  Crazy!  I am still not so sure about this year round thing... anyways... our two weeks started out with a trip to Lake Powell.  Love.  The boys were in heaven of course surrounded by things boys love to do.  Things that go fast.  Places to jump off of and be crazy on.  Water every which way you look.  You get the picture.   It was very fun and went by way too fast.

There are to be no more 'baby' rides for Jakers. He wants to ride like the big kids. Apparently, the faster the better. Where do these boys come from, seriously, they are obviously their father's children.

And a little bit of attitude... uh-huh!

My little brother Alex aka Bigal (Don't ask... it's a long story) and Coletrain. The boys idolize him of course, how could you not? (Love you Bigal!)

My darling niece Isabelle whom I would one day like to steal!:) Although, I don't know how I would handle her and Crew at the same time considering they have more energy put together than a train!

And of course one of Cole with his tongue sticking out. I did get one of him picking his nose and eating it... gross I know, but I couldn't find it for some reason. I will need to look harder for that one because it is hilarious.

Relay for Life

Cancer hasn't really been that fun but there have been a few things that we have learned during this process. 1) Primary Children's Hospital is fantastic. 2) Make-A-Wish really blessed our lives. 3) And there are many organizations that have helped in allowing Jake to be here with us today. What we know about cancer today compared to 20 years ago is unbelievable. The chance of Jake being alive 5 years from now is a ton higher now than it was just a few years ago. The American Cancer Society donates an incredible amount of time and money to furthering cancer research. I know it's not much but I have volunteered to be on the board for our Relay of Life here in the Southern Salt Lake Valley. We are looking for a few people that might be interested in donating time or money (or both!) to helping us out. We have plenty of team captains but we don't have enough members on each team. There are tons of ways you can help. In fact Heidi and I are on Team Jake (original, I know) and we don't have enough members on our team either. You don't have to live here to help. Let me know if you would be interested by email or call me. The event will be held at Riverton High School August 7th-8th. We need money and time. We are also looking for anyone that you know that has or had cancer for a tribute that we are putting on for them. We appreciate your help.

Little fishies

Crew has been our only child that has been apprehensive about water.  That is until yesterday.  I don't know what happened, but he decided that he was born part fish.  He was playing on a tube and I asked him if he wanted to go swimmin'... he said 'yeah' and dived head first into the water and has not stopped since.  ('Yeah' is his new favorite word)  It is hilarious to watch him.  He will not sit still for two seconds and just wants his head to be under the water!  We put a video on of him because it is not enough to see through pictures...just ignore the annoying 'mom' voice on the the video!
