Yesterday Jake had clinic. Pretty sure he told all the doctors and nurses there it was "THE BEST CLINIC DAY EVER!" He was given permission to go back to school,
TODAY! Crazy. Insanely fast. We were not expecting such a good response from them. He was on cloud nine all day. We decided it would be easier on him to send him back to his old school rather than try and acclimate him into a brand new one where he has no friends. I worry that it is going to be a hard transition for him to go back after over one year of no school. They were more than willing to let him come back. So. Today was his first day of fourth grade. We are only six months late, but who is counting? He was nervous, but so excited he could hardly stand it. (He even asked me to give him some benadryl last night so he could sleep and the day would come faster. Don't worry. I refused.) As for me. I am a nervous wreck sending him back. And I miss him already. He has been my little buddy for the last year and it makes me sad to send him back to school all day long. He will do great and I am sure I will get over it fairly quickly, but I have liked having him around. He is a good kid. Love him.
We took some pictures to document the day. I think he was a little embarrassed once we got inside the school. Can you tell? (He put his foot down when I tried to walk to his classroom and take pictures of him.)
