1/13 - (Also from Jackie)
There has been such a kind response from people that want to help. Many of you have asked about a mailing address to send things to them directly. If you'd like their address, please email me at jjottesen@gmail.com and I would be happy to send it to you. Also, anyone that wants to link their blog site or add their paypal button on to your facebook pages are welcome to. The more love, support and prayers that are sent their way...the better :)
Thanks to all of you!
1/9 - (This is from Jeff's sister, Jackie. I will be periodically writing on here as well.)
Beating cancer once is a feat in itself, but beating cancer twice is something only a real hero can do. And Jake is our hero. Cancer is no match for Jake Jamieson.
We just spent a wonderful Christmas with Jeff & Heidi and the boys. Everything was so nice that I can't even describe the array of emotions I have felt over the last few days. Shock...anger...determination...sadness....hope...confusion... probably what most of you who love this family have felt also. I may never understand why a family who overcame one of the hardest trials on this earth would have to do it again?!? THEY DID THIS ALREADY!!! I love that little boy as if he were mine and it is crushing me that he has to go through all of this again. No child should ever have to go through something so awful and definitely not twice. The worst thing about a nightmare would be having to re-live it. However, this post isn't about my emotions. This post provides a way to DO something to help this amazing family. I have asked and I have been asked by others how we can help. By the time Jake is done with this treatment, they will have been battling cancer for almost SIX years. The bills over that length of time are unfathomable and is the last thing they need to be thinking about at this time. I have added a 'DONATE' button where people can donate directly through paypal. Just click the button and it will walk you through it. You don't even have to have a paypal account. If you think $5 is too little, it's not! It all adds up. And every bit helps. Jeff and Heidi have expressed to me so many times how grateful they are to have such wonderful friends and family and that it's the support and prayers of others that help them get through tough days. Please help me lighten this load that they have been asked to carry...twice. They are SO strong and SO faithful that we will gain so much more from them during this than we could ever give to them.
