Dirt Bikes

As crappy as the whole cancer thing has been, there have been a couple of wonderful things that have come out of it. Make-a-wish for one. It is still incredible to me how much time and effort this organization puts into making these kids happy and be able to do things they never would be able to otherwise. Spoil them a little, maybe? Or a lot. It is not just one wish granted, but rather, there is something constantly being offered for our boys to be able to go do. This time they went above and beyond.

Tuesday we were invited to a pre-race motocross party up in Park City. We got to have pizza and go bowling with the pro- racers and the Utah Highway Patrol. All of the kids that attended, they put their names in a drawing to be able to go to the actual race on Saturday. Jake's name was drawn! Hooray! The child was SO excited.

At 6:00 Officer Grey came to pick up Jake and Cole. He gave all three boys a police badge and let them play in the front seat of his car. They got to turn on the lights and push the button for the siren. They were in heaven. When they had enough of listening to the siren, Jeff, Crew and me followed them up to Heber for the races. We could see Jake frantically waving his arms all over the place which he tends to do when he gets excited. Poor Officer Grey. I don't think he was able to get two words in the whole hour and a half ride up there. Cole fell asleep in the back and Jake talked. And talked. And talked.

All three boys were mesmerized by the races. We were a little worried about how Crew would do, but he LOVED them! Jeff will not be getting a motorcycle anytime soon due to all the crashes we saw even though he started pouting the second we walked in about having to sell his. Poor guy. He is so deprived.

All of the wish kids got to race with the pro-racers in a Rhino. You could just see Jake telling the guy to go faster! He takes after his daddy. The faster the better! They went around the track twice and surprise, surprise, he and his driver won their round!

After the races, all of the wish kids and their officers were introduced and were given an honorary racing medal. It was an awesome night. We had a ton of fun... we love MAKE-A-WISH! If you would like to donate, it could not go to any better place. Trust me. We know firsthand. Go to their website. They take anything from frequent flyer miles to $5.00 to basketball tickets. Everything goes to a great cause. Click here for Utah's chapter.

As for the cancer thing with Jake... he could not be doing any better. Except for those steroids. Which should have another name for them. A bad name. Because that is what they are. Horrible, awful, stupid, dumb medicine. If it weren't for those stupid pills, this cancer thing would not be all that bad right now. That one week is very entertaining at our house. If you would like to come watch, you are welcome too. I am sure you would get a kick out of it. And then we can send him home with you for a few days. But, we do want him back. Just after the steroids are out of his system.

"Night Moon"

This little boy has an obsession with:
"he-hem" (airplane)
fishies
"shockies" (sharkies)
choo-choo's
and his birthday cake counting book

His new obsession is the moon. Yes, the moon. Random, I know. One night we were outside and told him to look for the moon. We were at grandma and grandpa's house. Unfortunately, there were too many clouds and the moon was hidden. He cried the whole ride home because he could not see the moon. A twenty minute drive with a child screaming in the back for the moon. We were finally able to get him to stop crying by telling him we would read the moon book when we got home. Now, Goodnight Moon is read at least three times a day and we say hi to moon everyday.

When you are a boy

You can run around completely naked all day and it is okay.

(This picture is much better when it is not cropped. But, Jeff said there was too much nudity even though you couldn't see anything and made me fix it. This child just makes me giggle all day long. He is very entertaining)

It is fun to see how long you can hold onto the towel rod in the bathroom before it breaks and you fall into the bathtub.

Heights don't matter. If mom and dad would let you, you would jump off the roof to see how high you could go on the trampoline.

Everyday you get to be a different superhero. Even super-underwear man can make an appearance.

Treasure hunts last all day and all night.

Wrestling is an important daily ritual to wake yourself up in the morning.

Swords at the toilet is one of the best and most disgusting games ever invented.

It is okay to dump out boxes of food and eat them wherever it is at even if it is right off the floor.

Racing never gets old.

Picking your nose and eating it is considered one of the four food groups. (SICK SICK SICK)

All girls have cooties except your mom and even that is sometimes questionable.
