October 15th- October 31st

 October 31st:
Happy Halloween!
Love,
the green lantern,
the huntsman,
little red riding hood
and the big bad wolf.

October 30th:
One of our favorite family traditions has become our Halloween dinner.  The boys
anticipate this just as much as Christmas.  This year we were able to share it with
friends and it was so fun.  I always say that we will do it on a smaller scale next year,
but it always turns out to be worth whatever effort was put into the day.

 October 29th:
October 28th:
Apple donuts and apple cider and sprinkles.
 October 27th:
The socks.  Need I say more?
October 26th:
(The next few days are cheat days.  I am not sure what happened this month with
me and my camera.)  My kids love animals.  I actually really don't.  I like them
from a distance, but that may be it.  They have been begging for a dog for a few
years now and dang it.  They may win out once we get a bigger yard...

October 25th:
Pumpkin carving.  The day Crew has been looking forward to since October
1st has arrived.  October 26th rolled around and the newly carved pumpkins
were already rotting.  Oops.  They had so many bugs three days later that
we had to throw them in the garbage.  Double oops.  Crew was not a happy
camper.  Next year, we will have to figure out a way not to let them rot.  Any ideas?

 October 24th:

 October 23rd:
Happy birthday to me.  I am 29.  Again.  And this baby is naughty.  We have
formed a nasty habit of having to lay down with her during her naps.  She wants her
back to be tickled and will lift up her shirt the minute you walk into the room to let you
know what she wants.  She will even move your hand if you are not tickling her back in
the right place!  (she is pretty high maintenance)  It takes
only ten minutes for her to fall asleep and she transfers easily into her bed.  I will
admit that I love it.  Some people may give me a hard time about it, but she won't
cuddle like this forever and I love that I get to hold and kiss on her for a few minutes
each day.

 October 21st:
She is obsessed with "pu-kins".  And I am obsessed with her.

October 20th:
She sure does love that "co-co."  And he spoils her rotten.

 October 19th:
Watching Shrinky-dinks shrink.
October 18th:
She really really likes her food.  And she made sure she got every last
drop out of that bowl.  And off of the table.

October 17th:
Napa has some of the cutest little shops and is all decorated for Halloween.
We had never seen a pumpkin this big and had to document it's size just for
our Crew considering he is obsessed with pumpkins and all things Halloween.
If you can't see the sign at the bottom... this pumpkin is named Hudson and weighs
1,500 1/2 pounds.
October 16th:
About two months ago, Jeff was transferred to Napa for his job.  We are
slowly digesting the fact that we will have to eventually move closer to his
building so he does not have a two hour commute each way.  This weekend,
we dropped the kiddos of at grandma and grandpa's house and spent some time
looking for homes and trying to make a grown up decision on what we should do.
I am pretty sure we both walked away even more frustrated than we were to
begin with.  I know the answers will come with time and we are slowly
eliminating areas, but it is hard when you throw not only four kids into the
equation, but a kid that is in middle school who does not do well with change.
We did have an amazingly fun weekend that was much needed and were
incredibly spoiled by Jeff's company.  Even though we have some difficult
decisions in front of us, I am so grateful for those decisions!  We are at
such a good place in our lives right now, sometimes I have to stop and pinch
myself to make sure I am not dreaming.
October 15th:
I don't know how we got so lucky in the fact that all three of our boys love to
read.  There have been times that we have had to take books away from them
because they won't do what they are supposed to do.  I would so much
rather have them read than play video games or watch television and often, they
choose reading over those things.  Now, I just need to find another book for Crew.
We can't seem to get past Diary of a Wimpy Kid.

September 8th- October 14th

October 14th:
A little girl in a "kee-kat" nightgown and scrumptious legs trying to go "side".

October 13th:
This kid loves to run.  He does not get that gene from me.  Or his dad.  We
both hate it.  But, he loves it.  And he is good at it.  I don't remember where
he placed at this meet, but I love watching him try his hardest and having
fun while doing it.

October 12th:
We spent the day at apple hill.  It is the perfect fall activity.  Now, if only
we could get it to feel like fall around these parts.

Rems got to ride on a horse for the very first time today.  This girl and her love of
life.  I love watching everything through her eyes.  She loves everyone and
everything.  She gets excited about the smallest things.  I know it is partially
because she is so young, but it also a huge part of her personality.  She
brings light and life wherever she goes.

October 11th:
Remi girl in her Sunday best.

October 10th:

October 9th:

October 8th:
She loves her "pack-pack".

October 7th:

October 6th:
Another Tuesday.  Another track meet.

October 5th:
The pumpkin farm.  One of our favorite places to go during October.  I
somehow managed to get all four kids in one picture!

October 4th:

October 3rd:
We only do birthday parties every other year and because this year was such
a big year for Jake becoming a TEENAGER, we decided to surprise him
with a day trip up to Tahoe.  We went to lunch and then took him to a ropes
course.  He was in heaven.  It was something that was right up his alley and it
was so great to be able to spend one on one time just with him.  I am still kind
of dying that we really and truly have a 13-year old.  Where did my sassy
little baby boy go?

October 2nd:
Happy 13th birthday to that handsome boy in the middle!  This boy has really
given us a run for our money over the last 13 years.  He is strong willed and
stubborn and feisty and sweet.  He still loves to read and is actually in the
middle of writing his own book.  He is an incredible water skier and is such
a hard worker when he puts his mind to something.  We still worry about him
and his health on a consistant basis, but I am pretty sure that is going to just
be a lifelong thing with this boy.  We are so grateful that he is a part of our
family and love him all the way to the moon and back again.

Today was a crazy busy day, so we did not get to celebrate more than opening
gifts.  He got a watch, a book and some new clothes.  Those two brothers of his
bought him a new book with their own money.  Tomorrow we are celebrating
with an adventure!

October 1st:
Things I want to remember:
His love of Diary of a Wimpy Kid.
and
the mismatched socks.  Everyday.  Yes.  He did go to school like this.

September 30th:
The view from our balcony.  No words.  Only amazing.

September 29th:
Life is better in a tutu.  Truer words have never been spoken when describing this
girl.  A princess dress or a tutu goes on the moment she wakes up in the morning
and is on until the sun goes down at night.

September 28th:

September 27th:
Thank heavens for mothers.  I have checked out of life for the last three months.
We finally told our families we were expecting another baby.  And my mamma
came to save me.  And do the laundry.  A word of advice?   Don't get three months
behind on the laundry.  When your kids don't even have one pair of underwear in
their drawers in the mornings, you know it is bad.  She fed us and cleaned
and got me all caught up on the laundry.  I have no idea what I would have done
without her.  It is too bad she can't stay forever.

September 26th:
My youngest boy and his imagination sure takes him a long way some
days.  "Crew is in." And NO one else is allowed.

September 25th:
Goalie Crew.  His determination gets me every single Saturday.  He loves
soccer.  I love watching him play just because he loves it so much.  It doesn't
matter if they win or lose, he is as happy as can be if he has a ball in his hand.

September 24th:
Today was this boy's first cross country meet of the season.  I don't think it
went the way he planned on.  Last year, he placed in the top ten every single meet
getting a medal.  The last race, he placed second, with him being only
steps behind the number one runner.  Pretty sure he forgot how
hard he has to push himself in order
to meet that goal.  Well, today, he placed 21st.  And he was not a happy camper.
We had tears.  We had some anger.  And we had a long talk about winning
and losing.  I think he was more upset at the fact that he didn't push himself
like he knew he could have.  I am interested to see what happens in the next race.
He is a determined little thing.  And sometimes it is good for us to lose and
then get up and try again.

September 23rd:
Oh this girl.  I always wanted a girly girl who loved princesses and dolls
and pink.  And I am pretty sure I got one.  She loves all of that.  She also loves
to be outside.  She loves dirt and rocks and doesn't care if she is messy.  I
am sure this is partially because of those three older brothers that are a mess
90 percent of the time.  And I love it.  I love watching her play outside in the dirt
with her minnie dress on.  I love her messy hair and dirty feet riding her bike.
She is a perfect fit in our little family and we could not be more in love with her.

September 22nd:
Two little monkeys jumping on the bed.

September 21st:

September 20th:

September 19th:

September 18th:
Little feet and little toes after a fun outing to Mimi's Cafe for dinner.

September 17th:
Selfie!  Which I am so not a fan of.  But these three apparently love them.

September 16th:
A cheat day.  These were taken the other day and are some of my favorite
outakes.

September 15th:
This boy earned his arrow of light tonight!  So proud of him and all of his
hard work.

September 14th:

Her ba-ba.  And the hand in the hair.  Every time.  And can you stand the boots?
Cause I sure can't.

September 13th:
Announcing the arrival of a new little one!  March 28th 2016.  We are so
excited.  And so nervous and I wonder half the time what I have gotten
myself into!

September 12th:
Flying with "co-co".  A little while ago, she was throwing a fit at gigi and pa's house
and neither Jeff or I was there.  Crew made the comment, "just give her what she
wants cause we don't ever tell her no."  Are we creating a monster?  Maybe.  But
there are way too many people around here that will give her what she wants... and
she knows it!

September 11th:
Saturdays consist of soccer.  And more soccer.  And dying in the heat at the
soccer games.

September 10th:
Another day.  Another day at the lake.  These boys are getting awfully
good at this waterskiing thing.  It has been so much fun to see them improve over
the course of the summer.  I am pretty sure every time we go, they each get a
personal best.

September 9th:
A tired beautiful baby girl.

September 8th:
