We had lots of fun visitors today. We sure do appreciate the love and support we have received. We are hopeful Jakers will do well tomorrow and we can go home. The big worry is if he gets sick. The odds of him having to come back to the hospital if he gets sick are pretty high. So, we are probably not going to be able to have families or kids over to the house. Mom's and dad's can come, but we just can't risk kids carrying something they got from someone at school. We sure hope this doesn't sound bad, but we can't really risk it. There are too many variables from his blood not clotting very well to him not being able to eat certain foods to him not being able to fight any sort of illness. We are going to see how he does but for the next 6 months or so, we will probably be a little over protective. We hope everyone understands we do appreciate your love and support and we don't want to hurt anyone's feelings, but for the next bit we just can't risk it. Everyone, including all family members will have to scrub their hands when they come in. We just have to have a very sanitary environment. I think I have beat that point down.
Anyhow, we are excited to see how things go at home. Obviously, we are pretty nervous to bring him home because we just don't know what the future holds for us. Again, we have so much support from family and friends and we are so grateful for it.

YAY! I hope you can come home and bring the little guy to the familiar environment even if it means no visitors!
If children have the ability to ignore all odds and percentages, then maybe we can all learn from them. When you think about it, what other choice is there but to hope? We have two options, medically and emotionally: give up, or fight like hell. ~Lance Armstrong
LOVE YOU GUYS!!!
That is great you get to come home. It is so nice to get to return to some normalcy and to get back in to return. We will cross our fingers for you.
Such great news-Let us know what we can do to help without making things worse or causing you more stress.

Hooray! Even though it's scary to leave the hospital, there is something so overwhelming and tiring about all the monitors and the constant check ups and the unfamiliar setting. It'll be SO good for all of you to be home! I'm so excited that he doesn't have to be there anymore. And it is OKAY to be a nazi about sterilization. You have every right (and obligation) to be. We were tempted to set masks by the front door with Olivia. Everyone will understand completely. I hope his shot goes okay - as good as a shot can go. We are thinking about you guys constantly! We love you!
Can't wait to see you guys again, even if its just a wave in the car. Oh wait, I forgot, heidi doesn't look at people or wave when she drives! We miss you!
We love you and are so amazed at your strength. Good luck coming home, we will bring Jakers lots of treats, but just drop them off at the door. Lauren and Ethan ask about him everyday, you are very loved.
I was so sad to hear about Jake. I just wanted to let you know that I am here if you need anything. I am sure that a lot of people have told you that but...really let me know.
Heidi & family--
